Our Faculty / Staff
Our administration and staff have many combined years of
Montessori education experience, which contribute to the excellence
of the entire program at The Montessori School.
All the teachers come to us with experience and/or college
degrees in Education or related fields. In addition, each classroom
has an AMS accredited Montessori trained teacher. Keeping excellent
qualified teachers is a high priority for the school. Each teacher
exhibits qualities of kindness, positive attitude, and high
expectations for the students' capabilities as set by Montessori
standards.
The School has embraced team-teaching (co-teaching) from the
primary environment forward, thus maintaining a target maximum 15
to 1 student to teacher ratio.
Years of general educational experience, rigorous training and
at-level Montessori certification, experience, longevity in
previous positions, and uncompromising devotion to the children are
all criteria for appointment to the Montessori faculty. On-going
professional development and institutionalized professional growth
and development are an integral part of professional life at
Montessori.

Montessori embodies what I believe to be the essence of life - how we should live, organizes our lives, treat other people, and contribute to the greater good. At its heart is the golden rule - treat others the way you want to be treated. What greater lesson can we pass on to the next generation? |

Teaching is not just my profession, it is also my hobby. Through teaching I believe I am fulfilling the purpose that God created and equipped me to complete in this life.
Montessori allows me to guide and encourage students to fulfill their purpose in life just as I feel I am. Because Montessori is concerned about the whole child and not just the academic progress of students, teachers are able to really know each student, their families, and their dreams. I feel privileged to play a part in helping each student reach for their loftiest goals. |

I have been teaching full time a total of 12 years. Seven years in a traditional classroom and 5 years in Montessori education. I was a substitute for 10 years in Preschool to 9th grade.
I hold a masters degree in Elementary education. Currently, I am finishing the requirements for my Montessori certification.
My husband of 25 years and I have one daughter and one son.
I like to read, garden and participate in Zumba exercise class. I like to spend time with my family. I also like to try new recipes.
My favorite thing about Montessori education is the individual student learning. Each child can research topics that are of an interest to him and explore subjects in science. I also think the multi-age groupings are beneficial to the child and teacher. The math materials the students use are only found in Montessori education. |

Montessori Quote: We could study a child from every angle and know everything about him from the cells of his body to the countless details of his every operation and we would still not perceive his ultimate goal, that is, the adult he is to become. |

Been married for 11 years with one child, Brooklynn 3. Love reading, movies, sports, scrapbooking, drawing and I'm a gaming "geek"
To put it simply, I love Montessori because we don't have to follow some preplanned lesson guide that has no clue about what the children are capable of. Children are free to excel where they have strengths or hang back when they need to refine a skill. |
